Today, Metrolink hosted a dozen puppies from Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines on a training exercise to prepare them to accompany their future partners as working guide dogs and service dogs along public transportation.

Metrolink, southern California’s regional passenger rail service, today announced a marketing partnership with mobility solutions company Moovit to help riders calculate the best route for each journey. The Moovit app uses official as well as crowdsourced information, offering users quick, convenient trip planning options including Metrolink, light rail, buses, scooters and on-demand ride services, such as Uber and Lyft.

Today, Metrolink announced a partnership to support one of the largest youth soccer organizations in Southern California: LAFC So Cal Youth. The program serves more than 4,000 children aged 5-15 and hosts more than 6,000 games on 40 weekends throughout the year at Pierce College in Woodland Hills.

Metrolink will resume passenger rail service on Monday, Oct. 4, to the Oceanside, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano stations along the Orange County and Inland Empire-Orange County lines.

Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail service, announced it is helping more people leave their cars at home on Car Free Day with a free round-trip ticket for anyone who newly downloads and registers on the Metrolink mobile app. Car Free Day, held every year on Sept. 22, is a worldwide call to action to improve air quality by choosing alternate transportation, such as a train, bus, bike or walking.

Today, Metrolink announced it will pilot the use of a new technology that will help ensure the safe and rapid slowing and stopping of trains in the event of an earthquake. The technology is being deployed along Metrolink’s 91/Perris Valley Line between the cities of Perris and Riverside and is a partnership with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

Metrolink will operate its Sunday schedule on Monday, Sept. 6 in recognition of the Labor Day national holiday. There will be no service on the Riverside Line nor the Ventura County Line on Labor Day.

Today, Metrolink announced the expansion of Ventura County Line Saturday service, adding connections to and from three additional stations - Camarillo, Oxnard, and Ventura-East - to existing service between Moorpark and Los Angeles. The new, expanded service will begin on Aug. 14

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) today released the draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Antelope Valley Line Capacity and Service Improvements Program to evaluate potential benefits and impacts of building infrastructure to support increased rail service between Los Angeles and the Antelope Valley.
